Ieder jaar organiseert een nationale sectie van AICA een conferentie in eigen land, zo was het in 2018 in Taiwan en in 2019 in Duitsland. Vanwege de pandemie is het congres-schema wat in de war geraakt, nu is er op 25 en 26 november een online conferentie, georganiseerd door AICA Turkije.
Het thema is 'The Intellectual Aftermath' en op het programma staan onder andere de keynote-speakers:
- Rayya Badran, MA, American University of Beirut – “What’s left of us: Notes on the artistic and cultural landscape of Beirut”
- Prof. Hilary Robinson , Research and Impact Director, Professor of Feminism, Art and Theory at the University of Loughborough. “But does it work in Theory? Androcentric Blind Spots and Omissions”
- Prof. Eddie Chambers, 'Department of Art and Art History at the University of Texas at Austin in 2010, teaching African Diaspora art history, – to be announced
